Fortunary, light can replace sunlight to light up every corner of our home and bring light to everyone's heart.
Every night, when we see the light up at home, it is like a sign of love transmitted: your family is waiting for you to arrive home. We see the light through the glass, dispelling the night's darkness and tiredness from today's study or work. The reason light could make humans feel warmth and hope is that light is the symbol of a family's love and care.
In this case, light is a way of showing love that is essential in our life. If the light is emitted in a beautiful and design sense carrier, it will make the light look like an artwork, making people appreciate the beauty that light brings to our life.
Concept:
I design to use five slight differences in size wood boards to make a light, which looks like the shape of a toy block. In addition, I want to make the light bulb inside the wood block that may make the work have a more natural feeling.

Belt sander
Using a bandsaw to cut each wood board in polygon, and then use a polish machine to sander the right angle sides to arc. Finally, use a drill press to make a hole on each wood board.

Explore the shine and shadow in the light, and I design to make the prism shaped lamp.

Tool: Laser Cut
Laser cut to make a 5-sided box, and engraving some decorative patterns to decorate the box. The box also relates to the theme of light, because the box is like a container of the light bulb, and the pattern can reach the visual effect of shine and shadow. The Inspiration of the pattern is a Chinese traditional flower pattern, and if the light bulb inside the box the shadow and the shine of the flower pattern would become the flower shape.
addition, in the project, I would try to use a hot glue gun to fill in some patterns like circles to explore different materials' effect on light and shadow. And also apply the paper on the empty space of the polygon, which want to inspect the how the paper affect the brightness of the light present.
